Ceremony Oct 28, 2011 at Barton Springs Pool Susan Bright’s favorite Mother Pecan tree won the Heritage Tree of the Year award and will be honored with a plaque and a ceremony on Saturday October 29th 11:00-11:30am. Thom Woodruff, poet, will read Susan’s poem “Legend” and Bill Oliver, folksinger, sing the 1000 year old tree song. A number of dignitaries will attend the Arbor Day Heritage Tree ceremony which is open to the public. Susan's friends will gather again at 2-3 pm to recite poems and exchange stories and news. The tree is located by the south entrance to Barton Springs pool. |
